Sometimes we are in need of a little encouragement in our lives. I realized this for myself when I was about 16 years old. I may have been at school or in an environment where I couldn't fall on my knees and cry out to God for comfort (despite the fact that I wanted to) and I certainly couldn't whip out my word and read it and even if I could, I didn't always know what to read for what I was going through. As a result, I found that music really helped me out in a lot of ways. It brought comfort, clarity, peace, love and so much more. It was a true gift, I want to share that gift with you.
I started college at 16 (for those who didn't know, now you know) and I felt pretty inferior at times compared to the other students. I was often the youngest in my class, most definitely NOT the prettiest and all the guys called me mom. I was more of an advisor than a friend to a lot of people back then so they usually called me mom. I had other nicknames like "The Queen'', Queen Farrah, Queen Righteous (because of my devotion to God lol) and Fairy. Anyways, all of that is irrelevant. The point I want to make here is that I didn't always feel high in spirits because I didn't fit in, and what's worse? I didn't actually want to do what it took to fit in. I was fine with who I was, but sometimes just needed a small reminder of the strength that came with it.
I started developing my own library of awesome Gospel and Christian music that I found lifted me up when I wasn't feeling so good. Artists like Johnathan McReynolds, V. Rose, Britt Nicole, Trip Lee and Starfield were some of my go-to's. As time has gone on, I've adopted new artists into my playlists and they keep me going whether I fell good or bad.
I think that everyone should have playlists of inspiring music set aside for times when they're feeling low. I have some of my playlists linked below that I want to share with you. I encourage you to start some of your own. If you know there are certain songs that inspire you to get up and go then create a playlist with them, if there are songs that get you in "worship mode" and make you want to sit before God's throne in the spirit, CREATE A PLAYLIST and use those songs to inspire your spirit to go to that special place in the times where you need it most.
I hope you enjoy the playlists I'm sharing with you today. I also really hope they're encouraging you. Let me know what you think by replying to this email and if there are some songs you think should be added to a certain playlist, reply with a YouTube link to the song, which playlist it should be added to and why.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Keep in mind that these playlists will update over time so feel free to check back for new, awesome music when you need some good tunes!
